If unable to leave a building, move to the strongest, most secure part of the building.

Select a part of a building which is in the inner section.

Ideal locations include basements or an inside room without windows on the lowest floor.

Avoid sheltering in a room with windows.

If there is no option, use wooden sheeting to board over any exposed windows.

Tape any windows in an ‘X’ format, corner to corner, to minimize the risk of flying glass.

For added protection get under something sturdy (a heavy table or workbench).

Cover your body with a blanket or similar to protect your person.
