If obvious, shut down machinery and plant if safe to do so, to avoid further injury or loss of life.
Complex machinery often requires a sequenced shutdown. Locate a knowledgeable user.
Assess the situation and danger to yourself or other persons. Your safety is the priority.
Obtain the gender, approximate age, whether the person is conscious and/or bleeding, any special circumstances.
Contact emergency services.
Emergency services will ask you about the situation and the condition of the person(s) involved.
If at work, report to a manager what has happened, so an organizational response can be created.
Report your involvement to your organization’s safety officer, if it has not been done so already.
