Guidance

Being stopped by police or government officials can be unnerving, more so in an unfamiliar location. Keep calm. Your body posture and keeping you hands in plain view will assist you.

If not advised by the intercepting officials, politely ask why you have been stopped and where they are from (station / crime unit).

If police are in plain clothes or their badge number / name badge is not visible, consider asking to view police credentials.

Be prepared that in developing or socially challenged locations you may be asked to pay a bribe, after which you may be permitted to continue on.

If you believe that you may be detained, activate the Help Alert in Core Lite, so at least your contacts know your live location, for follow up enquiries.
