Core Lite by AEGIS 24/7 only sends SMS from a fixed phone number, +1 630 320 2723.

Encourage your contacts to save this phone number as a favorite, so they can recognize the source, when a message comes through.

You will receive app update notifications from time-to-time.

We recommend to update Core Lite when prompted.

This gives you access to new features and bug fixes.

On selection of the [Update] prompt, you will be taken to the Apple Store or Google Play. Select [Update].

No additional hardware is required to use Core Lite. It is software only.

Check the App Store for minimum compatibility requirements.

Core Lite is optimized for portrait viewing on mobile phones.

Core Lite at this time is not optimized for viewing on iPads. This is under development.

Core Lite selects the first phone number in the contacts card, of your cell phone handset.

Ensure that you have the contacts mobile phone number listed first.

This way SMS messages for help alerts or location sharing, will be received by them.

Contacts who have not enabled Location Services to be used on the web browser, when sent an SMS with a link, will receive an error page.

To view your live location or location pins sent from Core Lite, they must enable Location access.

As a rule, Core Lite applies the same country code of your home mobile phone subscriber plan i.e. for US residents it is +1, to your contacts who do not already have a country code prefix applied.

This ensures that if you travel outside the US, your contacts will still receive SMS from you when using sharing features.

If the country code prefix of a contact needs to be updated, and they reside outside outside your home jurisdiction, apply the country code prefix for their country.

You can view the status of contacts in the contacts card in your mobile phone or when selecting contacts for notifications in a safety plan.

To use the safety and live sharing features in the app, requires you at a minimum to set location access to ‘Allow While Using App.’

Your location is only used when using the app. Further, your location is only accessed when you are using specific features in the app, such as safety plan, help alert or live sharing, that require your accurate location.

We don’t use location tracking. We believe in and protect your privacy.

Core Lite requires cellular network or WIFI connection. When this connection is interrupted, you will be alerted with a notification, audio sound and vibration alert.

As there is no connection, SMS are unable to be sent to your contacts. This means no live sharing or issuing of a help alert SMS.

Notifications will continue even when cellular network or WIFI connection has been lost. This is so you have line of sight on your safety, and can take steps to notify those contacts you may have shared your safety plan with. This could be via satellite or landline communications.

Locate and connect to WIFI at the earliest opportunity.

Once a signal has been acquired, a notification and audio alert will advise you that connection has been re-established.

Any outstanding actions or SMS will then be sent.

Core Lite works on WIFI alone. As you are connected to the internet via WIFI, Core Lite will continue to work.

If you create a safety plan at a location, SMS will still be sent out for functions such as check in/out and help alert activations.
