This includes buildings, below ground usage etc. In urban environments with tall buildings, buildings which use a lot of glass, you may experience a disruption to your GPS signal accuracy.

To prevent your location puck, the blue circle inside a safety area being ‘bounced out’ of a safety area, adjust the size of the safety area.

‘Bounced out’ is where your location appears on a map, at a location different to actual.

By expanding the safety area size, it ensures you remain inside the safety area and the plan does not auto complete.

A notification is issued advising same.

The logic is that you may not be attending at the location or are very late and require a new start/end time for your safety plan.

0 minutes after the scheduled end of timer.

4 minutes after the scheduled end of timer.

Help Alert

Plus 6 minutes after the end of the safety plan, a help alert is sent out to contacts selected in your safety plan.

You will receive a notification if the screen is locked, advising that the help alert has been activated.

A large help alert will display inside the app, once the app is opened.

The SMS are sent out automatically and do not require you to do anything.

Contacts can select the link in the SMS and view:

– Your full name

– Phone number

– Your address location

– Your Live location on a map.

Contacts do not need to have the Core Lite app installed on their mobile phone.

This feature accelerates the process when you need help.

Contacts can then take next steps to contact you, head to your location or direct first responders.

How the safety area works https://aegis-tourgo.itechnolabs.tech/knowledge-base/how-the-safety-area-works/ Fri, 28 Jul 2023 08:58:28 +0000 http://216.48.190.226/aegis/?post_type=ht_kb&p=939

About

The safety plan is the geo area which you set according to the activity you are undertaking.

In a city environment, you might only need a small safety area, because locations are generally confined to a small area.

If you are in the country or undertake an action activity, set the safety area much higher, as you will be moving around over a larger area.

All monitoring remains on the phone handset and is not shared with our servers.

Safety area color

The safety area once created, is red in color.

Once you arrive at the location and inside the safety area, it turns green.

Seamless safety

Once you create your safety plan, that’s it. Core Lite does the rest.

The safety plan auto adjusts if you enter the safety area early, or late.

if you don’t arrive into the safety area before the end of the safety plan, it auto completes.

During your safety plan

If you exit the safety area before the end of the plan, a notification will appear. If you do not return within two minutes, the safety plan auto completes.

End of safety plan

At the end of the plan, you are given three options:

1. Continue

2. Complete

3. Walk out of the safety area. Once you exit, the plan auto completes and if selected as an option, SMS are sent to contacts notifying them you have left the location.

Location management and safety plans https://aegis-tourgo.itechnolabs.tech/knowledge-base/location-management-and-safety-plans/ Fri, 28 Jul 2023 08:57:49 +0000 http://216.48.190.226/aegis/?post_type=ht_kb&p=937

Safety plan

The safety plan is designed to pre-load all the information you need and share it with others, if or when you need.

Explained

The safety plan is basic information about a location that you are attending. So you can share that information automatically with select contacts, on arrival for location visibility, or if you need help.

Your safety plan details:

– The location where you will be.

– The safety area around the location to which monitoring applies.

– Who will be there.

– How long for.

– Who to notify when you check in / out or need help.

If you need help or are responding to an unplanned event, you don’t have the time to be typing or calling multiple people.

Core Lite sends out the information, so you can focus on helping yourself or others to safety.

When to create a safety plan

You can create a safety plan anytime. Before you arrive at a location, as their are unknowns at the location or you want to share your location visibility with others.

You can also create a safety plan at a location.

Creating a safety plan

Select the logo on the bottom of the screen. The safety plan will then deploy.

Location

Select the destination where you are going to. There are three ways to select an address:

1.Input an address. The predictive address search feature is there to assist. Search by address or Place of Interest.

2. Select from Favorites. Select a location from your favorite list.

3. Select on the online map.

Long press your finger on the online map, and a location pin will display. Adjust as needed.

If you select a building, the name of the building or tenant organizations will be displayed.
The selection of a location is a mandatory field for a safety plan.

Creating a Location favorite

Select [Add favorite location].

Detail the [Location name] of the favorite i.e. Home.

Either search for the address in the [Search address] field or use the [Set location on map] feature.

There is a [More about address] that allows you to detail more information about the address i.e. apartment number.

Safety area

The safety area is the fixed area around the location listed in your safety plan.

It sets the area where monitoring takes place. So Core Lite seamless and automatically, sends out check in SMS notifications to contacts when you arrive, or if you leave a location early.

All monitoring remains on your phone handset.

By default, it is set at 200 ft and is adjustable up to 1,400ft.

It is set at 200 ft, to allow for inaccuracies in user location caused by environmental conditions such as large buildings.

This ensures you have safety cover at a location and are not ‘bounced’ out of the safety area, by changes in user location accuracy.

It is visually displayed by a colored circle around the location.

On arrival at the location the color will change, so you know you have checked in and the safety plan will start.

Setting the safety area

Using a slider, a user can select the size of the circle to apply to the location.

The size of the safety area is dependent on where you are and what you are doing.

In metro locations the default radius (the distance in every direction around the selected location) is recommended, but for country locations a larger area may be required. You decide what suits.

Safety area appearing in center of address

In your safety plan, when searching for an address i.e. 123 Smith Street, Jonesville, the center of a listed address, is selected.

This is standard practice across online map providers.

If you need to reposition the safety area, because you might not be attending that exact area, resulting in the safety plan not becoming active, there are two options:

1. Increase the size of the safety area. It goes up to 1,400 ft.

2. Manually select the location you will be attending on the online map. Long press on the screen.

Person(s) at Location

List the name(s) of person(s) expected at the address.

When you check in at a location or if you activate help, this information is shared with selected contacts in your safety plan, so they can accelerate the response.

This is a free text, non-mandatory field.

Time at Location

Select the date and duration you expect to be at a location.

This is a mandatory field for a safety plan.

By default the timer is set at 30 minutes. It is set +1 from your phone handset time.

Life changes, so if you arrive early, arrive late to a location, it auto adjusts.

If you have not arrived inside the safety area before the end of the safety plan, the plan auto completes.

Notify Contact(s)

Select people you want to notify if you need help or on check in / out.

You can choose to notify individual contacts, or groups of contacts.

Help

Select those contacts or group(s) of contacts you want notified if you activate the help button, or do not respond if your safety plan timer has expired.

It is mandatory that at least one individual must be selected for help, whether they are an individual or a group containing at least one person.

The contacts you select will receive an SMS detailing that you need help, your safety plan information and live location, mobile phone charge and altitude.

Use case: You are going to a house party and are creating your safety plan.

In the Help tab, you select the group ‘Best Friends’.

At the party the mood has changed, and you feel unsafe. Activate the help button.

The group ‘Best Friends’ which contains Mary, Andrea and John will each receive an SMS requesting help along with the afore mentioned information, for next steps.

Check In / Out

As an option, notify automatically contacts or group(s) of contacts when you check in and out of a location, for location visibility.

Example1: Select Kate who will automatically receive an SMS with your safety plan information when you check in and out of a location.

Example 2: Select the group ‘Best Friends’ which contains Mary, Andrea and John, who will each receive an SMS with your safety plan information when you arrive.
