Guidance

Reduce the risk of theft and disruption.

Consider the purpose and size of bags before you leave to travel. Larger bags can be a distraction when you don’t need it, and an opportunity for theft.

Place a handbag more towards your front and corner of your elbow. Cover the opening with your arm or hand.

If using a backpack, consider placing at your front, rather than on your back. This makes the bag less accessible to pick pockets.

These options may reduce the risk of pickpockets and travel disruption.
